Covering the nightshift can be a lonely thankless business on cold winter or rainy summer nights. Usually at some point in the evening you can meet one of the other guys and sit window to window for a chat and a coffee, but on rainy nights you can’t open your window without getting soaked. Rainy nights can also be very quiet as people tend to stay home.
Last night was miserable and it rained hard all night. Tom (CP24), Jeremy (Global TV) and I turned a closed for the night gas station into our living room for a little while. Jorge, a freelancer from CTV, stopped by for a chat. A little later we found an empty Tim Horton’s on Caledonia Rd. A good laugh was had by all.
