Mayday Mayday Mayday - Firefighter Distress Call

When firefighters need help they issue a mayday call over the radio. That's what happened overnight in Toronto, after two firefighters who rescued two residents from a fully involved house fire, had to call for help themselves.

A woman who was trapped inside the fire on Gordon Rd in Toronto called 911 and was able to guide rescuers to her location inside the very large home. She was rescued out a window and down a ladder. Her husband was rescued from the roof at the rear.

I arrived while firefighters were still trying to find the woman in the smoke filled house. She looked lifeless when they dragged her out and got her on a stretcher, but it appears she will survive.

Toronto Police Make Arrests, Seize Cash and Cars After $750,000 TTC Robbery.

Toronto Police Hold Up Squad, ETF, Peel Police Tac, 31 Major Crime and The Proceeds of Crime Unit executed warrants this morning in Brampton, Three men where arrested at the locations I visited. Police say the arrests relate to a TTC armed robbery in which over $750,000 in cash was stolen.

Police seized three vehicles, three motorcycles and about $90,000 in cash at one home. They also took furniture and electronics they say were purchased with the stolen cash. The men are described as spending money like drunken sailors after the robbery, which helped police build the case against them.

How not to fly your dragon.

The guy had been working all night bringing asphalt to a construction project of Hwy 403 EB at Mavis. Looks like he left the site and didn't lower his bucket.
